Oakfield, Carrowmore, Sligo
Peacefully on September 11th 2025 surrounded by his family in the loving care of the staff at North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo. Dearly loved husband of Elizabeth.
Predeceased by his siblings Peggy, Maureen, Ann, Kathleen, Lil, Rosaleen, John, Thomas, Charlie, James, Peter, and Martin.
Sadly missed by his loving wife, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, greatgrandnephews, greatgrandnieces in Ireland and the U.K., relatives, neighbours and many friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Seán Feehilys Funeral Home, Cartron Cross, Sligo F91EH98 from 5.00pm on Friday September 12th.
Removal at 6.30pm to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Ransboro arriving at.7.00pm
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2.00pm on Saturday September 13th.
Mass will be livestreamed at; www.studiorove.ie/mcavanagh
Burial follows in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Scarden, Strandhill Road, Sligo.

Thinking of Uncle Michael and the wonderful summers spent on the farm in Oakfield as a child. Gone but never forgotten. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. May Michael rest in eternal peace. We fondly treasure the time we got to spend with both Michael and Elizabeth on our last visit home. Our condolences and thoughts are with Elizabeth. All our love Orla, Alex, Brianna and Elliot in Australia.
