Anne-Marie Ellison,
Breeogue, Sligo and formerly of Ardee, Co. Louth, passed away peacefully on October 7th 2021 at North West Hospice, Sligo, surrounded by loving friends and family.
Beloved daughter of heartbroken Des and the late Maura, and cherished sister to Susan, David, Barbara, Sandra and Joan. She will be sadly missed by her godmother Una, brothers-in-law Michael, Francisco, Kevin and Jeremy, her nieces and nephews Maeve, Una, Edith, Oscar and Louis, her close friend adaoin and all who loved her.
May she Rest in Peace.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan on Sunday October 10th at 11am for family and close friends only. Service will be live streamed via www.lakelandscrematorium.ie password:Lakelandsfuneral2021

Dear Des and family I am heartbroken to hear the news about Anne-Marie. She was my friend for as long as I can remember - from the early days in Ballapousta to our years in Rathnew and beyond. I am so glad that I got to spend time with her a few years ago when we sat together at our school reunion. She will be greatly missed and I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be for you all. My deepest sympathy on the death of Anne Marie. I had the pleasure of working with Anne Marie in North West Hospice for a number of years . Anne Marie made a huge contribution to the hospice and was the reason for the many developments that we enjoy today. Anne Marie's great integrity and honesty in all she did , was a great role model to me and others. Anne-Marie was a good friend and roommate when she lived in Ottawa. I shared a house with her and Peter and we worked together at IDRC. Sadly, we lost contact, but I will never forget her joyful approach to life, her adventurous and exuberant spirit. While we Canadians all cowered and complained about winter, she put on good boots and stood at the bus stop in the snow with a smile on her face, basking in sunshine at 20 below zero, embracing life. My condolences to her family and friends. She was taken much too young. Love, Kathy.

I was so shocked and sad to hear of Anne Marie's passing, she looked so well the last time I saw her, radiant as she always was. She really was an amazing woman, I feel very lucky that our paths crossed, and that I knew her ..she was so kind and generous to me, she took such delight in showing me the wonders of Sligo.. I will always be grateful for that.. I find it so hard to believe that she has really gone.. And that I won't see her walking at the beach.. or at a gig, or full of chat, having a coffee somewhere.. She was so full of life and curious about so much. I hope you will find some consolation in all your memories of Anne Marie, and her amazing spirit, she will be much missed. Marian xx

Die Nachricht vom frühen Tod Anne-Maries hat mich tief betroffen gemacht.Ich hatte die Freude mit ihr in zwei Sommern anfangs der neunziger in Köln zusammen arbeiten zu dürfen.
